Purple Ibis

I’ve always loved taking pictures, but I got my real start in photography in high school when I took my first photography class. I am inspired the most by nature, and natural beauty. I appreciate unexpected, imperfect, or raw beauty more than staged and airbrushed perfection. I believe imperfection gives the subject character and interest. The photos in my portfolio that I am most proud of are my black and whites because I shot them with a 35mm film camera and developed the film and made the prints myself. My second favorite group of photos is the group from Greece. I had the opportunity to visit my family’s country of origin and came away with some amazing photos filled with the old world culture that I grew up with.
